Their newest target is Carter Grove, ruthless leader of a private security agency. Grove has stolen a rare Chinese artefact from the Smithsonian, a crime that will torpedo US relations with China if it ever becomes public. Nick and Kate must work under the radar to steal the piece back. Confronting Grove's elite assassins, Nick and Kate rely on the skills of a ragtag crew, including a band of geriatric mercenaries led by none other than Kate's dad.
A deadly chase leads Nick and Kate from Washington DC, to Shanghai, to the highlands of Scotland. But it'll take more than death threats, trained henchmen and the fate of a dynasty's priceless heirloom to outsmart Fox and O'Hare. (from the back cover blurb)
Donated to the little free library in Narrabundah, ACT. Thank you.

I wanted to see if I enjoyed this more than the Stephanie Plum series. I didn't get far to realise I didn't. The same style of writing which didn't appeal to me in the first series. This is personal though; others might not mind this, and obviously don't, as these books sell many copies.
Kate O'Hare, as far as I read, was the same character as Stephanie Plum, with the same awful diet. I wrote in the Stephanie Plum series, "Stephanie lives on junk food. If a real person ate what she did, she would be obese." The same applies to Kate. I like my stories to show more realism than that. Kate threw two big guys (body guards) through a window for another unreal example. Mirror image character with the first series. Passing this book on unfinished.

I enjoyed this book. I've read the others in this series, so it was more of the same, but a good escape to read some light fiction.
