An elderly tailor is tortured to death beside an ominous message written in blood across the wall. The police have no idea that this is just the start of a campaign of violence with its roots in the Nazi death camps of WWII. In the wake of the tailor's murder, his granddaughter and her young son, Leo, are left in possession of a devastating secret. Hidden for generations, it puts them in immediate danger. When they meet Solomon Creed, a maverick with an unknown past and an uncertain future, they are hunted across France by a powerful organisation and left with one chance of survival: expose the shocking truth or be silenced forever...

NB - This is a cancelled library book.

I originally discovered this book when I read a small taster of this, the second book in the Solomon Creed series It ended at a very annoying point so when it was for sale in the library, I had to buy it – and I am glad I did. I don’t think I missed anything with this being the second book in the series but now I want to read more.

Solomon Creed is the perfect subject for mysterious, magical and mystical stories but he is still vulnerable and chaotic while he obsessively seeks the truth about his own identity. This is an incredible weaving together of fiction and history. The subject matter is like all WW2 stories, disturbing while bringing together the horrors of the death camps and the after effects of them.
